It's mid-afternoon, one of the busiest times of day in the Atrium. Students are studying, chatting, or maybe helping themselves to the mostly functional Nintendo Wii in the corner. Heathcliff Lacey's appearance is mandatory for the following events to unfold. However, it's possible that from the angle Archimedes Rose and Hieronymus Lee were watching there was a case of mistaken identity.

Archie is looking down on the atrium from one of the higher floors. He holds a jar of swirling pink smoke in his hands, and nods at [Sophomore Conspirator A] before opening it. With swift movements, his accomplice traps the gas in a fragile bubble, which they blow on so it floats gently over the railing and down into the atrium. [Victim B] sees the beautiful bubble floating down towards them, and without thinking, reaches out and pops it.

That's when the chaos begins.

It starts with giggles, spreading out from the epicenter in waves, but soon everyone in the atrium is struck by uncontrollable laughter.

HOW THIS WORKS

• Archie is a bad child.


• If your characters was in the atrium at this vaguely defined time (done so purposefully so everyone can have fun) they'll find themselves laughing at everything. They can't control it. Everything is hilarious.


• The laughter will last anywhere from 30 minutes to 3 hours depending on how much you want your character to suffer.


• Sophomores were theoretically warned about this, but nothing's stopping them from getting caught up in the gassing anyway.


• Mr. Elmasry will quickly determine it's Archie based on the method and what Archie's checked out of the potions storage room. He's going to give him detention.


• In the aftermath, Sy and Reid will declare that any kills that happened during the laughing gas incident don't count.
